Mediterranean Homes inspired by Italian Renaissance

This sub-style reminds the unique beauty and the genius of the Italian Renaissance in 14th – 16th century. In this sub-style you will be able to recognize the architectural legacy of the ancient Roman world. The rounded arches at the main entrances of the houses, the front columns covered with many details and different shapes, the hipped low-pitched roofs and all other elements such as amazing gardens and fountains make these homes one of the most beautiful ones all over the world. The windows at the first floor are usually bigger (almost full height windows) than the windows at the second floor. Common decorative details include pediment windows, quoins, door surrounds, molded cornices and more. Stucco walls are also typical for this home style.

Mediterranean Homes inspired by Spanish revival

This sub-style incorporates all the details and spirit of Spanish architecture. It is well known in California, Arizona, and Florida. Spanish Revival homes have a simpler design compared to the other Mediterranean sub-styles but are the perfect combination between simplicity and exceptional beauty.
The main design features include one or more main archways at the front of the house, low-pitched tiled roofs with a specific little overhang, stucco exterior finish, and an asymmetrical floor plan design. The main focus id concentrated over the main entrances and doors as well as the front spiral columns and iron and stone work. The front doors carved, look heavy and are decorated with trims.

Mediterranean Homes inspired by Mission Revival

The Mission Revival sub-style is a mixture between the Spanish Revival style and the Craftsman style. It is very well adopted in warm ocean climate in USA like Florida and California. Of course nowadays this style is improved by the Architects and its well known as contemporary Mission Revival style.
The main features if this style are: the stucco or plaster facade, exposed rafters and overhanging eaves, arcades and walkways and large square pillars and columns at the front of the house, decorative roof parapets as well as elements from iron, wood and stone.
